VISIT TO UJJAIN TEMPLES                                                                                                          MAHAKAL TEMPLE.
The Mahakal temple is located in  Ujjain. The mail lingam located in underground in Basement of the temple. All are allowed to touch the lingam for offering pooja  purpose.
In the temple premises itself there were many other shines were. The following is the remarkable one.

Ujjain history:

Present Ujjain is normal town in Madiyapradesh.It is mainly attracted by tourist by below mentioned temples and rich in its history.From here just 65Km to indore it is industrial town well developed equivalent to some Metro cities in india.Having good infrastructure to and lodges and Good airport connectivity with Bhopal and Bombay cities.
Bada Ganapathy temple                                                                                                                                              Just adjacent to Mahakal temple this temple is there.This statue very big in size  approx 12ft height and 10 ft wide.In this temple inside Pnachamuga anuman bronze statue you can find separate Garpagiraha and jula is kept insde th temple while leaving all devotees attempt to swing  jula and paying their mark of prayer.
Harsiddhi Amman temple
From Mahakal temple just half KM this beautiful temple welcomes with Jinjatic two Deepak kampa at entrance of the table.It is believed that the Goddess of this temple Mataji remains at Koila Dungar temple in Porbander for twelve hours and comes to Ujjain ka temple in the evening during aarti time.The king Vikramaditya favourite temple he made regular pooja here and  by making tabus towards her he got more auspicious power from her.
Char Dam Mandir
This temple just located in walkable distance from harsiddi amman templeIn this temple for Yosoda devi, Gpoal Mandir, Jagannath Mandir and lord Siva separate shines were there apart from this Krishna purana events exhibited in animation form nice to see.The lion mouth entrance welcomes this exhiobition hall don’t miss it during your visit.
Shanni Mandir
From Mahakal temple about 2 km to this temple for Shanni separate moorthy is there about 12 ft high. Devotees  offering oil to his foot as a mark of prayer to Him.
Yantar Mandir
Located very near to Shanni Mandir.According to Indian astronomers, the Tropic of Cancer is supposed to pass through Ujjain. It is also the fist meridian of longitude of the Hindu geographers. From about the 4th century BC, Ujjain enjoyed the reputation of being India`s Greenwich. The observatory today was built by Raja Jai Singh (1686-1743), who was a great scholar. Ujjain his famous for space science and astrology of those days here one research centre Yantiramahal reveals that one.
In that the time measured by using sun shadow is a live example of olden how the Ujjain was rich in astronoms.The structure at  central  triangle shaped partition wall and its adjacent curved shape structure having serration marks on its periphery, with respect to sun shodow falls on curvature structure we could able to measure the time now also accurately.

The day and night duration changes with respect to season changes also can be measured now also.

24 Khamba Mata ka Mandir.
The old entrance of  the Mahakaleshwarar Temple.Where the ancient temple consists of huge complex there the houses come up today. 
Ram Ghat
where the Simhastha (known as Kumbh in Prayag) is held. The other names for Ujjain: Ujjaini, Avanti, Pratikalpa, Vishala, Kumudhati, Kushsthali, Chudamani, Kanak Srange, Padmavati.
Shri Gadhkalika Mandir
It  is traditionally known to be the choice of worship of the greatest poet Kalidasa – the author of Abigyna Shakuntala and chief gem of the court of Raja Vikramaditya. Images and bricks & part of the plinth are of the 1st century B.C. (Shunga period), 4th century A.D. (Gupta period) and 10th century A.D. (Parmar period) were recovered from the basement of the temple. Emperor Harshvardhan renovated this temple in the 7th century a.d. – there is some indication of its further renovation in the 10th century a.d. under Parma rule.Right side picture is sancturm and left side pictur is Full view of Gadhkali Mandir.
Mangalnath Mandir:
 According to Matsya puran, this is the birthplace of Mangalgraha or Mars. Flowing Shipra river presents a very beautiful view in front of the temple. Devotees gather in large numbers esp. on Tuesday. Located on a hillock, this place represents the highest place in the area. In ancient times, the place was famous as it is said to have provided a clear view of Mars – Ujjain was an important center for astronomical studies. This place, traditionally known for its suitability for astronomical readings of mars continues to hold its religious importance.
Mangalnath temple sevai gragham (New mangalnath Mandir)
This temple also located in Sipra river banks newly built temple where mangalnath sitting on Goat.This temple is very near to Mangalnath Mandir.Nice location brings  peaceful   in our mind.
Paruthrahari  Maharaj cave temple.
Here this maharaj made tabus in a cave, For reaching this caves nice steps provided only one person can enter at a time for approaching the cave.Once enter inside the spacious place you can find. Like that another one caves located adjacent.
Nath Mandir nearby Paruthrahari maharaj temple:
Just come out from Paruthrahari  maharaja caves adjacent you can find Nath Mandir.
Kal bairavr temple:
At the entrance of Kalbairavar temple the lot of Monkeys welcomes you devotees gives some eatable to this maonkeys, takes casually from your end.This kalbairavar main pooja offering item is Arrack(Sprite).Devotee’s this sprite  offering  is coolly  drink by the Kalbairavar.The wonder is where thios spritet goes unknown, try during your visit. Stone made Deepa isthamba is there at entrance.
Siddeshwar Mandir:
This temple also located in Sipra river banks, In the river Ghats were made, where devotee takes than visit Siddeshwar.Here in the tree itself the Mataji has been decorated.It is believed that the Parvathi devi made tabus under this tree to get Bone.Near by temple you can find the check dam has been built, so in this place water mostly available in the River.
Shanthipani ashram
where lord krishna,balarama and kusaylar learnt veda from saint Shanthipani and its nearby Purusotham sagar and Solasagar lakes.

  1. Nice post. Thanks for sharing all temples of Ujjain. shri Mahakaleshwar temple is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple to Shiva as Mahakal, is set on a spacious courtyard and surrounded by massive walls. It has five levels, one of which is underground. Check out all 127 places to visit in Ujjain.
